The second of Washington’s two 2019 first-round picks is below contract.
The Redskins introduced Wednesday that they signed defensive finish Montez Sweat to his four-year rookie deal. As with all first-round contracts, Sweat’s pact features a fifth-year group possibility.
Washington traded again into the primary spherical to draft Sweat at No. 26, after the Mississippi State defensive finish fell resulting from a reported misdiagnosed coronary heart challenge. The ‘Skins traded their No. 46 choice (Grasping Williams, CB, Browns) and a 2020 second-round decide to the Indianapolis Colts to seize Sweat.
